TechPoint, the nonprofit, industry-led growth initiative for Indiana’s technology ecosystem, today announced the nominees for its 23rd annual Mira Awards program presented by Salesforce. Phil Wright, Founder and CEO of Accent Consulting, was officially announced as a nominee for the Rising Entrepreneur Award. This category recognizes a class of passionate and creative entrepreneurial leaders thriving in Indiana.
The Mira Awards are the state’s largest, best known and most prestigious technology awards, and the annual gala celebrates the “The Best of Tech in Indiana.” Wright’s commitment to the startup and entrepreneurship community in Greater Lafayette and the state of Indiana has been consistent and impactful for more than a decade. He was a founding member of LafayetTech, which focused on helping entrepreneurs take their start-ups to the next level. In the early 2000s, Phil’s efforts with ForePoint Networks successfully brought high-speed broadband internet to over 2000 sq miles of Indiana that had no coverage and through Accent Consulting, Wright was one of the first service providers to bring “managed IT” to local Indiana businesses. In 2009, he developed and launched IntelliHire, a full suite talent management system geared toward helping tech companies source and identify top talent. And as a MatchBOX partner, Wright’s team at Accent donates wifi services to the coworking studio and make themselves available for no-cost office hours. Wright speaks on panels, has served as a judge for multiple pitch competitions, and is always open to mentoring regional founders.
